Stage 1 - 
 
The sediment cartridge is the first filter installed in the Flexcon 5 reverse osmosis for 122 water filter system. Its main function is to remove large and fine particles from drinking water, such as sand, dirt, silt, and rust particles. Removal of such particles allows for better performance of all the following filters, such as carbon block or GAC filters.
 
This filter has a micron rating of 5 and should be replaced every year, depending on water quality. This filter is wrapped and sealed and meets NSF Standards and Regulations. 
 
Stages 2 and 3 - 
The activated carbon block filters are made of fine coconut shell carbon and remove odours and tastes of many organic compounds, especially chlorine. 
They offer a much finer filtration of suspended particles and dirt due to their packed carbon in a cylinder block. 
These filters also have a micron rating of 5 and should be replaced every year, depending on water quality. They are wrapped and sealed and meet NSF Standards and Regulations. 
 
Stage 4 -
The 50-gallon-per-day NSF-certified thin film TFC membrane is the main component of the Flexcon 5 Reverse osmosis for 122 water filter system units. It's made with 100% organic fine thin film flat sheet and has a 99% Reduction rate of bacteria, pesticides, herbicides, and heavy metals from tap water. 
The original PA-E RO-132 reverse osmosis membrane has the micron rating of a thin film less than 1/10000th of a micron, which is 620,000 times thinner than a human hair, 2,500 times smaller than bacteria, and 20 times smaller than any virus. This membrane is wrapped and sealed and meets NSF standards and regulations. 
 
Stage 5 - The reverse osmosis under counter sink replacement inline carbon filter stabilizes the water-tasting qualities and removes any traces of bad taste and odours. 
These filters are known as polishing filters because they are usually the last stage of any standard reverse osmosis circuit. 
They are made of high-quality coconut shell carbon, have dimensions of 10" x 2", and should be replaced every 1-2 years.
